After an exhaustive national search, the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium (SFCCC), a collaboration of 11 community health centers, is proud to announce Sabra Matovsky, MBA, as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. Matovsky takes the helm of the 35 year-old organization, created to assist the health centers to pool their collective resources to ensure their needs and interests, and those of their patients, are addressed by local, state and national policy makers. “We are very pleased to tap into Sabra Matovsky’s exceptional leadership capabilities, financial acumen and vast experience with health centers, to help us further our mission in supporting the San Francisco safety net for patients and providers at our consortium clinics,” said David Knego, Chairman of the SFCCC Board. “We are excited about our future direction under her leadership and we are looking forward to the fresh perspective she will bring to our organization and our partners.” SFCCC member clinics serve more than 109,000 patients representing 13% of San Francisco’s population.
SFCCC works to support its member health centers in four core areas, each with distinct programs: access to care, workforce development, maximization of valuable resources and health policy. While SFCCC partner health centers focus on patient care and preserving the well-being of the communities they serve, SFCCC promotes the sustainability of the health centers – strategically advising them about the changing healthcare environment – to help preserve their long-standing tradition of community care. “The SFCCC is a national model of working together to meet the needs of San Francisco residents.”– Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Leader, U.S. House of Representatives.
Matovsky brings more than 25 years of health care experience to her new role. Most recently, she served as the Executive Vice President of Integrated Health Partners (IHP), a premier clinically integrated network in Southern California and a subsidiary of Health Center Partners. Before joining IHP, Matovsky was the Market Leader for Molina Health Care in San Diego for six years, during which Molina became the fastest growing Medi-Cal plan in the County. Matovsky also served as the Administrator of Care1st Health Plan for two years, and as the Director of Contracting for 10 years with the Council of Community Clinics, the predecessor of Health Center Partners. Matovsky has extensive experience working with community health centers and is frequently tapped by the California Primary Care Association (CPCA) for her thoughts and experience.
