Vet SOS is limited in our ability to store medication and must be selective about what we can accept. Please see the lists below to check whether we can accept the type(s) of medication you wish to donate. Please note that the lists will be updated as our needs change. To arrange delivery of donations, if you are unsure about an item you wish to donate, or it is not on either of these lists, please contact us at vetsos@sfccc.org

Medication & Supplies We Can Never Accept

  • Controlled Drugs

  • Expired Medication

  • Herbal Medications

  • Medications that Require Refrigeration (except Cytopoint)

  • 1mL & Insulin Syringes

Medication & Supplies we don’t currently need

  • Denamarin

  • Entyce

  • Heartworm preventatives (without Flea & Tick)

  • Meloxidyl/Meloxicam/Metacam

  • Rimadyl/Carprofen

  • Vetoryl/Trilostane

  • Fluids/Lactated Ringers

  • <20g Needles

Medication & Supplies we need

  • Adequan

  • Skin medication (in general)

  • Ear medication and prescription flushes (in general)

  • Prescription flea control

  • Prescription/Medicated Shampoos & Wipes

  • Prescription GI Food (ie: Hill’s I/D or Purina EN)

  • Prescription Hydrolyzed Protein Food

  • Vet recommended probiotics (ie: Fortiflora or Proviable)

  • Animax/Nysastin/Panalog

  • Apoquel

  • Baytril

  • Clavamox/Clavacillin/Amoxi-Clav

  • Cytopoint (must be kept refrigerated)

  • Panacur

  • Cefpodoxime/Simplicef

  • Trazadone

  • Vetmedin/Pimobendan

  • Cerenia

  • 3mL syringes w/ ≤ 1in needles (must be unused or still in packaging)
