OUR SERVICES

Veterinary Street Outreach Services (Vet SOS) serves pet owners who are experiencing homelessness and who live in San Francisco. We operate twice monthly pop-up veterinary clinics at which we offer the following services. Visits are by appointment only.

  • On-site veterinary wellness exams including vaccinations, routine procedures, and laboratory testing.

  • Rabies and other vaccination certificates.

  • Distribution of animal food, leashes, collars, and other pet supplies.

    • Including weekly curbside pickup of free pet food and supplies in the Mission (for existing clients; by appointment only)

  • Referral to free spay/neuter surgery and other veterinary care.

  • Linkage to human health services.

Eligibility

Vet SOS is restricted to serving unhoused pet owners living in San Francisco or formerly unhoused people who have been in transitional/supportive housing like an SRO (Single Room Occupancy) for less than two years. We require that clients provide an eligibility letter confirming their housing status for continued service. That letter will be provided to you at your first visit. It can also be found here.

If you do not qualify for our services, please visit our resources page here.
