The room was filled with joyful sounds as SFCCC and its Partner Clinics celebrated its 30th Anniversary on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 and honored Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi for her 25 years in Congress! More than 200 people attended the gala reception that took place at the St. Francis Yacht Club including partner clinic board members, patients and their families; funders; elected and appointed officials; staff members; and friends and colleagues.
SFCCC
represents 10 community-based primary care clinics with 18 clinic sites
that are strategically located in the City. SFCCC clinics serve four of
the special health disparities communities (Mission, Tenderloin, South
of Market, and Bayview) identified by the SF Health Commission as
especially in need of increased health care access. Our partner clinics
keep people well and reduce healthcare costs. The care received at SFCCC
clinics prevent unnecessary hospitalizations and reduce inappropriate
hospital emergency room (ER) visits.
SFCCC clinics provide 359,000 medical and dental visits per year to 91,000 low-income uninsured or underinsured San Franciscans, more than 10% of the City’s population. Our high quality clinical care is provided across the network and our sensitivity to race, culture, gender or sexual identity is core to our clinical practice. SFCCC partner clinics offer service in over 20 languages and in multiple dialects. SFCCC partner clinics employ over 500 health care professionals. SFCCC partner clinics bring over $72 million in Federal, State and philanthropic dollars into the City to support services for our client populations. Less than 3% of our funding comes from the City.
