2013 MLK Jr. National Day of Service - Our AmeriCorps Members GETTING THINGS DONE!!

Usually, we tend to patients in a clinic, or some other form of office, but not today; today we tended the Earth. Along with other service-minded San Franciscans, we picked weeds and learned bits about local flora.
The day was beautiful,
The weather was nice,
We had some fun.
Maybe we’ll do it twice!

ImageThe 2012 – 2013 SF Community HealthCorps Team spent this MLK Day engaged in habitat restoration work at Rob Hill Campground in the Presidio. Partnering with the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, team members helped to beautify the campground through revegetation of native plants and removal of invasive species. Rob Hill Campground plays host to thousands of visitors each year, including school groups that use Rob Hill as a living classroom. Our team’s day of service helped to preserve this valuable parkland for future generations of San Franciscans to learn from and enjoy!Image
