SFCCC Hosts AmeriCorps Graduation Ceremony

On the evening of July 12, SFCCC held a wonderful graduation ceremony for our Community HealthCorps Class of 2012.  This group of 22 AmeriCorps members began serving last September, and each will have completed 1,700 hours of community service by the end of this month -- more than 37,000 hours total!  Ceremony highlights included a welcome from SFCCC Board Chair Ana Valdes, MD; a member-produced video on their accomplishments, service reflection and future plans; distribution of certificates of completion by SFCCC HealthCorps Program Manager Sarah Gordon; testimonials from site supervisors on the inspirational contributions of their members; and – of course – lots of great food!  SFCCC thanks these members for their dedicated and awesome service, sends our best wishes for success and happiness, and looks forward to their future contributions to improving the health of our communities.
