SFCCC 30th Anniversary – Causes for Celebration!

Our 30th Anniversary allows us to celebrate the accomplishments of SFCCC and its partner health centers. And they are significant. SFCCC represents 10 community health centers with 18 offices strategically located in the City. SFCCC clinics serve 4 of the special health disparities communities (Mission, Tenderloin, South of Market and Bayview) identified by the San Francisco Health Commission as especially in need of increased health care access. Our partner health centers keep people well and reduce health care costs. Our partner health centers prevent unnecessary hospitalizations and reduce inappropriate hospital emergency room (ER) visits. The cost of a visit to a SFCCC health center is about $200 compared to a $3,000 hospital emergency room visit for primary care. Last year the SFCCC non-profit health centers provided 359,000 medical and dental visits to more than 91,000 low-income, uninsured/under-insured, working poor, and homeless San Franciscans - over 10% of the City’s population. Where would they go for care without our clinics? Our quality is across the network and our sensitivity to race, culture, gender or sexual identity is core to our clinical practice. SFCCC partner health centers offer service in over 20 languages and in multiple dialects.
