Governor's Proposed Budget Preserves Medi-Cal

Governor Brown released his proposed budget for 2017-18 yesterday.  In the midst of uncertainty about Federal funding for the Affordable Care Act and the Medicaid program, Governor Brown chose to stand firm about maintaining California's Medi-Cal expansion and the relatively new state funded Medi-Cal coverage for undocumented children.

While we applaud this signal that California will try to maintain the progress in health coverage for Californians we recognize that by the time of the Governor's May revision of the budget,  changes in the Federal situation could lead to unfortunate changes in the Governor's forecast.
