On Wednesday, August 3, 2016, Eleanor Jacobs, MSW, passed away.
Eleanor Jacobs joined the San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium in May 2001. She served as the Vice President of Communications and Development for 12 years and had a strong, positive influence on the direction and character of SFCCC. When you met Eleanor you were greeted with a huge, welcoming smile and a big “Hello, it’s so nice to meet you”. You felt like Eleanor was going to become one of your closest colleagues and friend.
SFCCC Board and staff are thankful for the years she worked with us. Her untiring commitment to bring the corporate, foundation and private donor world to SFCCC in a strong partnership to support creating new systems for access to health care for all San Franciscans was key to many successes at SFCCC. Eleanor believed in the San Francisco health care safety net and drew upon her extensive experience with United Way of Silicon Valley, San Francisco YWCA and Mayor Frank Jordan’s Homeless Director to serve as a leader for SFCCC.
SFCCC President/CEO John Gressman reflected, “We will miss Eleanor’s untiring energy, her passion for life and her belief in following the teachings and love of the City’s namesake, Saint Francis of Assisi.”
