Surgeon General Warns Against E-Cigarettes for Youth

In the first Surgeon General's report on E-cigarettes, the U.S. Surgeon General Vivek H. Murthy characterized e cigarettes use by youth as an " emerging public health threat affecting our country". 

The Surgeon General states that "Scientists are still learning more about how e-cigarettes affect health. However, there is already enough evidence to justify efforts to prevent e-cigarette use by young people." and "Because most tobacco use starts during adolescence, actions to protect our nation's young people from a lifetime of nicotine addiction are critical."
