Lyon-Martin provides personalized healthcare and support services to women and transgender people, regardless of their ability to pay.

The Primary Care Physician is responsible for diagnosis and treatment of Lyon-Martin patients, for providing such care in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner, and for making appropriate internal and external referrals.  S/he is expected to maintain a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards, and to function as part of a care-giving team.

Work Schedule/Salary:

The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, with some evening hours required.  Salary is commensurate with experience.

Education and Skills:

• Board Certified/Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
• Current California State License and Registration
• DEA Controlled Substances Registration Certificate
• Bilingual English/Spanish language ability preferred
• Commitment to the mission of Lyon-Martin and to community-based primary care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; creativity and enthusiasm in problem-solving
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and foster team spirit, demonstrating good judgment in unusual and emergent situations
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Flexibility and comfort in anticipating and managing change in a small, fast-paced non-profit clinic

Experience:

• Experience in community clinics and/or ambulatory care
• Experience working with homeless, mentally ill, & substance using patients using harm reduction principles
• Experience working with populations with varying lifestyles, ages, sexual orientations, gender identities, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and economic status
• Experience working with lesbian, bisexual and transgender patients
