SOS Outreach Worker Attends Regional HCH Conference

Street Outreach Services outreach worker Daniel Han is back, renewed and enthused, from the September 6-8 Region 9 Healthcare for the Homeless conference in San Diego. Of particular interest and help to him was the focus on strengths-based needs assessment in a workshop called “Taking it to the Streets: Case Management within the Continuum of Care.” He also liked a workshop on major aspects of healthcare reform as they relate to homeless healthcare, and is interested to see how the dizzying array of details will play out in 2014. Of course, meeting new people is always the best part of any trip: “I got to meet other service providers from the Bay Area and hear about their programs. I also met people from other mobile clinics and got to learn how their geographical and population specifics shape their work.” Daniel is now looking forward to applying what he’s learned to his day-to-day work with SOS.
