Health Care Reform Seminar and Discussion

On February 10, more than a hundred local health care leaders participated in an informative seminar and spirited discussion of health care reform implementation. The convening was presented by San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium, in partnership with the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California, the San Francisco Medical Society, and the University of San Francisco/School of Nursing and Health Professions, and sponsored by Ernst & Young/Healthcare Advisory Services. 

The keynote presentation, Creating Win-Win Strategies for Successful Payment and Delivery Reform, was made by Harold D. Miller, Executive Director, Center for Healthcare Quality and Payment Reform, and President & CEO, Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement. The seminar also featured a panel discussion, on Accountable Care Organizations: A Successful Model, by Stephen Foerster, Senior Director, Managed Care, Dignity Health; Terry Hill, Vice President of Medical Services Group, Hill Physicians, and Kristen Miranda, Vice President, Provider Network Management, Blue Shield of California, with Ron Smith, Senior Vice President, Hospital Council of Northern and Central California, serving as the moderator.
