SFCCC Board and Staff Meeting


On Wednesday July 20th SFCCC held its annual joint Board and Staff Meeting to celebrate our achievements from the last fiscal year. The meeting was led by Board Chair, Dr. Ana Valdes and attended by the SFCCC Board Members and Staff. SFCCC CEO, John Gressman, reviewed the several accomplishments SFCCC achieved this year including:
  • Increased partnership between SOS & VETSOS leading to more homeless pet owners being connected to health care services.
  • Creation of new SFCCC website with help of VISTA Member and IT Staff
  • The various successes of the Quality Improvement Committee and Quality Improvement program at SFCCC, especially with their current work in creating patient centered medical homes
  • Our partner health clinic, South of Market Health Center built and opened the first health center from the ground up in San Francisco
  • 22 members of the SFCCC Healthcorps Program completed a successful term of service ending in July. Healthcorps members serve at a variety of health centers around the city working directly with clients
  • The fabulous Accounting Department and Development Departments have worked together in bringing in funds and monitoring those funds closely leading to another year of successful and financial stable programming

Additionally, key staff members were awarded with a token of appreciation. Jane Luong was nominated by staff as the SFCCC Heroine in the Field for her strong work ethic and ability to inspire others in they way she always strives to be better. Kim Hill received the Leadership Team Award for her dedication to searching and writing grant proposals and the creativity and devotion she brings to planning and running SFCCC related events. As a true backbone to SFCCC, Allen Meyer was chosen for the CEO Award. Dr. Ana Valdes was honored as Board Chair for her strong leadership skills and ability to lead the SFCCC Board to great success.

Congratulations to the SFCCC Board and Staff for another great year of work! A special thanks to George Shen, Eleanor Jacobs, and Vera McLaughlin who celebrated their 10 year anniversaries and Jane Luong who celebrated her 15 year anniversary with SFCCC this year.
