Community HealthCorps*VISTA

Community HealthCorps*VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a capacity-building resource for Community Health Centers in San Francisco. VISTA members do "behind-the-scenes" service working with health center staff, community-based organizations and other partners. Community HealthCorps*VISTA members are assigned on a full-time basis for a 12 month period, serving low-income communities in the area of health & human services. VISTAs provide the following types of services:

San Francisco Community HealthCorps*VISTA assist health centers and health agencies to increase capacity to serve in one of four distinct community clinics:

San Francisco Community HealthCorps*VISTA project areas include: Chronic Disease Collaborative, Service Expansion, Outreach and Resource Development, Volunteer Program Development, Community Assessment, and Curriculum Development.

Benefits
Community HealthCorps*VISTA members receive a living allowance of $11,388 per year, health insurance, child care, loan forbearance, travel reimbursement, and the choice between an educational award ($4,725) and a stipend ($1,200) at the completion of service term of one year. Additionally, relocation expense reimbursement of up to $550 and local transportation monthly pass will be provided.
